There was always going to be a flood of remixes following Jay-Z's release of the acappellas to his 'American Gangster' album, but there has been one remix project that has risen easily to the top of the pile, perhaps because this one isn't put together by some unknown wannabe, but the established vet K-Def, producer of the much-loved Lords of the Underground, amongst many others. K-Def's sound is warm and soulful, making for the best backing for the Jigga-man since Premo and 9th Wonder hooked him up. Dope!
